Look after your applicants and you'll look after business

We know that it might be tempting to put off hiring because you are hearing that good people are getting harder and harder to find. An interesting survey shared with us by Seek, shows the common frustrations by applicants. This backs up a lot of the thinking that went into the design of our TwoTicks Pro Package; we help minimise the top 5.

  1. Not hearing back - we respond to everyone who applies to your role. We want to make sure your brand (and ours) reputation is upheld.

  2. Inaccurate information on a job ad - our team are experts at writing job advertisements and we know how to make your ad stand out.

  3. Vague job descriptions - applicants want to know if they can do the job as much as you do. The more specific you can be in the job description, the better for everyone.

  4. Inaccurate information on a job ad - we help guide you through the process of making sure all the information is correct and clear. And current - job titles can frequently change (especially in the IT field). One day you’re looking for an Analyst Programmer and the next, a .Net Developer.

  5. Slow recruitment processes - in a tight labour market, it pays to act quickly when a good applicant shows up. And be responsive to the individual's needs.

For example : As part of our service, we frequently coach clients to help get their preferred applicants over the line. Recently we found an ideal person using search and approached them about a role. When they found out the salary, it wasn’t senior enough for them so we asked them what would be. We noted that in the short-list report we send weekly, and so the client decided to rewrite the role so it was a better fit for them. Then we coached the client on the next approach - give them a call directly, have a casual coffee meeting, warm them up slowly. And prepare for the counter-offer; sometimes people we bring in through search are susceptible to being pulled back in so a conversation about that possibility is often helpful.
